About Us

History

Krautz & Summerill was established over 40 years ago, in the early 1970’s, in Albury-Wodonga and originally focused on small domestic jobs and solid plaster/rendering. Over time the focus changed to concreting & later to commercial concreting, formwork & steel fixing.

As precast concrete was developing throughout Australia Krautz & Summerill was one of the founding members of the National Precast Association of Australia.

At this time Krautz & Summerill started manufacturing steam cured concrete power poles & precast products in the late 1970’s. Many of these poles can still be seen in Melbourne suburbs of Coburg, Doncaster, Preston & Box Hill & down the Murray river from Albury to Mildura & as far west as Broken Hill.

Krautz & Summerill built the current precast factory in 2004 and ceased precast power pole manufacture to focus on precast panels.
